PS4 System Update 2.51 Rolls Out

Sony has begun rolling out a new system software update to PlayStation 4, bringing with it various tweaks and improvements to the previous firmware build.

The console update weighs about 245MB, and should now be available to PS4 owners across North America and Europe and should be available for download in Africa within the week. Brief patch notes, copied below, suggest that the new update will implement minor fixes.

PS4 Update 2.51 Patch Notes

  • System software stability during use of some features has been improved.
  • Operation quality during use of some applications has been improved.

One bug that some users discovered back in March, where a notification informing players about Rest mode would continually pop up when the console turned on, has not been fixed.
