Google+ now shows how many views your content gets
If you’re concerned about how much your content is being viewed on social media, Google+ might be the place for you. The number of times your content has been viewed is now showing on the web version of the social service, right next to how many followers you have. It’s a new feature being rolled out, and comes active on your profile.
To see if your view count is active, just log onto Google+ and migrate to your profile. On the left side, you’ll see your little icon next to your larger image, along with info about yourself like where you live or went to school. At the bottom, you’ll likely see how many followers you have, next to your view count. Again, that shows visible to anyone unless you disable it.
To disable it, just hover your cursor over the navigation button on the top left of the screen, and click on “Settings” when the menu pops out. Scroll down to “Profile”, and you’ll see “Show how many times your profile and content have been viewed”. If checked, it’ll show. If unchecked, it won’t.
The view count only shows up on the web version of Google+ currently, and takes into account all your media — pictures, videos, posts, etc. If you post publicly, your content will naturally get more views. If you’re an attention junkie, this is right up your alley. We like it for an enterprise solution, but don’t put much stock into it for personal use.
